Cutting Balloon in Action: A Successful Clinical Case
Cutting Balloon in Action: A Successful Clinical Case
We are excited to share an impressive clinical case highlighting the efficacy of cutting balloons in treating coronary artery disease.
A 53-year-old male with 80% segmental stenosis in the mid-proximal left anterior descending artery (LAD), 80% stenosis in the mid-distal left circumflex artery (LCX), and a 70% stenosis in the distal right coronary artery (RCA) was successfully treated with #SafeCut cutting balloon.

Balloon Deployment

Product:SafeCut Cutting Balloon
After pre-treatment with a 2.0 mm SC balloon, #SafeCut 2.75*10 mm cutting balloon was delivered along the guidewire to the lesion site. It was expanded at 6 atm for 30 seconds for predilation of the lesion, and this expansion was done once. The balloon was successfully delivered, expanded, and withdrawn.
Outcomes:
- The residual stenosis of the target lesion was reduced to 30%
- After stenting, the residual stenosis was down to 0%
- TIMI grade 3 blood flow was achieved
This case demonstrates the advantages of #SafeCut cutting balloons in treating calcified lesions. #SafeCut is able to effectively dilate the lesion and improve blood flow, offering a promising option for patients with coronary artery disease.
